Privacy Policy

AstroBond ("we", "us") is an astrology and social discovery app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. Short version: we collect only what the features need, we don't sell data, and you can delete everything in one tap.

1. What we collect

• Account: email address and a password hash (or your Google account identifier if you sign in with Google).
• Birth details: birth date, and optionally birth time and city, used to compute your natal chart (Sun, Moon, Ascendant).
• Profile: display name, optional bio, up to six photos, and what you're looking for (friendship, dating, both).
• Experience Map: birth dates or signs of past connections you choose to add, whether the connection was good or bad, its type, and descriptive tags. We never ask for or store their names.
• Location: your approximate coordinates, only if you enable Discover. Used solely to show people within your chosen distance.
• Messages you send to other users, blocks and reports you make.
• Usage: the number of AI readings you request per day (for rate limiting) and basic error logs.

2. How we use it

• To compute your chart, compatibility scores and daily cosmic weather.
• To show you people nearby who match your filters (Discover), and to hide you from people you block and vice versa.
• To generate optional AI readings. Readings are produced by Anthropic's Claude from your computed placements and the engine's findings, never from free text, and are stored so they are not regenerated.
• To keep the service safe: rate limits, abuse reports, account integrity.

3. What other users see

Other users see your display name, photos, bio, age, Sun/Moon/Rising signs and approximate distance. They never see your birth time, your exact location, your email, or the entries in your Experience Map. When the compatibility engine compares you with someone, it uses only sign-level patterns from your map, and that computation happens on our servers.

4. Service providers

• Supabase (database, authentication, storage, hosted in Frankfurt, EU).
• Anthropic (Claude API) for optional AI readings; only chart placements and engine findings are sent, never your email or photos.
• Google AdMob for ads in the free tier (mobile apps only), subject to Google's privacy policy and your device's ad settings.
• Google Sign-In if you choose it.

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with data brokers.

5. Retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account from Settings → Delete Account in the app, or by following the steps at astrobond.app/delete-account. Deletion removes your profile, photos, Experience Map, messages, blocks and AI readings immediately; backups expire within 30 days.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, and to object to certain processing. Write to hello@astrobond.app and we will respond within 30 days.

7. Children

AstroBond is for adults. We do not knowingly allow accounts for anyone under 18, and the database rejects birth dates that would make a user younger than 18. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation; see our Child Safety Standards for how we prevent, detect and report it.

8. Changes

We'll post any material change here and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
